A.M. Logging, LLC was awarded FRA’s 2023 National Outstanding Logger this past May in Point Clear, AL. At that time, they committed to donate the $1,000.00 proceeds given to their company by STIHL to the nonprofit organization Log A Load For Kids.

The Pennsylvania Forest Products Association held its Timber Show on June 9th and 10th in conjunction with Penn State University. Part of that event was a Log A Load For Kids truck parade that started near Beaver Stadium on the northeast side of State College. The parade proceeded through town to the show site on the southwest side of town. The parade was joined by off-road vehicles such as wheel loaders, forklifts, and skidders. The parade stopped near show headquarters for a check presentation and comments by the Grand Marshall. This year’s Grand Marshall was US 15th District Congressman Glen “GT” Thompson (R-PA). Log A Load For Kids Chairman, Bob Long, presented a check for $28,000 to the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.

After that presentation, Chairman Long and others joined Mark Byler and Andrew Miller for the ceremonial check presentation to Log A Load For Kids. Chairman Long commented:

“Over the years, I have gotten to know the folks at A. M. Logging through their membership in the Pennsylvania Forest Products Association and as supporters of the Log A Load For Kids campaign in Pennsylvania. In my opinion, they are a company that really represents the qualities that make our forest products industry great. They are honest, hardworking people who believe that giving back to their community and those who need help is an important part of being a successful business. A. M. Logging has always been a great supporter of children’s hospitals in Pennsylvania through The Log A Load For Kids program. Because of their generous donations, many children and their families have received the care they need. I congratulate A. M. Logging on being named National Logger of The Year. It is well deserved!”

Many loggers support Log-A-Load. They show up every year with a donation and a desire to see kids get better! Giving is not a requirement. It’s something they want to do.

Thank you, A.M. Logging, for being FRA’s 2023 National Outstanding Logger and providing an example of how giving back makes a difference!
