STEPHANIE FULLER RECEIVES FRA’S 2025 NATIONAL TECHNICAL WRITING AWARD
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE– Friday, May 9, 2025
Miramar Beach, FL, May 7, 2025 – The Forest Resources Association (FRA) proudly recognized Stephanie Fuller, Director of Promotions and Economic Development for the Forest Workforce Training Institute (ForestryWorks®), as the recipient of the 2025 National Technical Writing Award. The honor was presented during FRA’s 2025 Annual Meeting, held in conjunction with the Southeastern Region Spring Meeting in Miramar Beach, Florida.
FRA’s Technical Releases are quarterly publications that highlight technical advancements, research, and innovative programs across the forest products industry. Many of these releases are authored by FRA members, and the best in each region are selected annually by the region’s Steering Committee for recognition.
Clay Altizer, FRA’s Southwide Region Manager, announced Fuller as this year’s award winner, commending her contribution to workforce development and outreach through technical writing.
Stephanie Fuller leads marketing and promotional efforts for the ForestryWorks® brand, as well as economic and workforce-related research and program development. Her work is instrumental in expanding ForestryWorks® initiatives nationwide. She is also the author of the Tiny Timber Crew children’s book series, which introduces young readers to the forest industry through titles like Lucy Meets a Logger, Travis Visits a Tree Farm, and Sam Visits a Sawmill.
A graduate of Auburn University with a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Economics, Fuller comes from a proud, fourth-generation logging family in Chambers County, Alabama. She is a member of the Economic Development Association of Alabama and has been actively involved with the Piedmont District Log-A-Load for Kids Foundation and the Alabama Loggers Council throughout her life.
Her award-winning Technical Release, titled “New ForestryWorks® Truck Driver Recruitment Program Keeps Professional Drivers Home at Night”, showcases a creative, data-driven solution to address the national truck driver shortage—currently estimated at over 60,000 drivers. The article details how ForestryWorks® is leveraging geofencing technology and consumer data to deliver targeted ads to drivers and their families, offering them opportunities to stay closer to home.
Following the announcement, Josh Sandt, FRA Chairman, presented Fuller with a commemorative plaque and a check from FRA.

“Stephanie is a well-known talent and no stranger to the FRA community. Her numerous contributions to support and promote the forest products industry are impressive, so it comes as no surprise that Stephanie is leading the charge in recruiting truck drivers to support the forest products transportation industry, a critical need for our wood supply value chain. I’m excited to see what she accomplishes next.” – Clay Altizer, FRA Southwide Region Manager.
