FRA LAKE STATES REGION OUTSTANDING LOGGER FOR 2022

Published

STEVENS POINT, WI OCTOBER 11, 2022 – The Forest Resources Association (FRA) and STIHL Incorporated honored Rod Enberg with Enberg Logging, Inc. of Motley, Minnesota, as the Lake States Region Outstanding Logger at FRA’s Lake States Region (LSR) Annual Meeting in Stevens Point, WI, on October 11. FRA LSR Chairman Jim Hoppe presented Rod Enberg with a cherry & walnut wooden crosscut saw plaque from FRA, and a STIHL chainsaw certificate, and a $500 check provided by STIHL, Incorporated to recognize the achievement.

Rod Enberg was very humble upon receiving the award and expressed his thanks to FRA and recognized his employees. “I cannot say enough about my crew,” Enberg stated. “Probably the most valuable thing you can do to be a successful logger is building a committed crew.  For me, they are the guys that make this all work.”

“Minnesota is blessed with many outstanding loggers, and Rod Enberg is among the very best,” said Ray Higgins of the Minnesota Timber Producers Association.  “He’s not only shown leadership as president of our organization and the Minnesota Logger Education Program, but he’s also set an example of excellence in the woods, in working with private landowners and land managers, in his work in schools and school forests, and in working with policymakers in our state.  Rod has spent a lifetime promoting forestry and logging in our state, and I’m thrilled he’s receiving the recognition he deserves for his efforts.”

Rick Horton, with MN Forest Industries and the MN Sustainable Forestry Implementation Committee, said, “Rod Enberg has spent his career managing MN forests for the many benefits they provide, he exemplifies everything that’s right about logging in the state.”

Tim O’Hara, FRA’s Vice President, Government Affairs and Manager, of the Lake States Region, said, “Rod Enberg is well deserving of the Lake States Region Outstanding Logger of the Year recognition. For more than 40 years, Enberg Logging has helped landowners manage their forestlands to improve forest health and wildlife habitat and generate revenue.”

FRA’s Outstanding Logger Award program is designed to raise the visibility of professional logging contractors and to encourage other loggers to adopt the performance of the award winners. The Regional Award winner becomes a nominee for FRA’s National Outstanding Logger Award competition.

STIHL Incorporated serves as the sponsor of FRA’s Regional and National Outstanding Logger Awards.
