FRA offers a valuable coaching service for emerging leaders.
2026 marks our fifth year offering the program, and we have received very positive feedback. FRA’s past President, Deb Hawkinson, is a Certified Professional Coach certified by the College of Executive Coaching. What drove her decision to become certified was her own experience of being coached and her desire to help others succeed.
While Deb is certified to help individuals at any level – from entry-level through executives – the coaching program is specifically offered to our emerging leaders. Our first session included individuals who participated in the September 2021 virtual advocacy day.
Coaching can help address challenges and attain professional goals, and it is an incredibly valuable experience.

- Building practical communication skills and better relationships;
- Developing better organization and time-management tools; and
- Providing clarity on your current role and how to advance.
Our Emerging Leaders program participants meet virtually once a month for four months, with the goal of increasing participants’ skillsets within their current roles and the industry and developing more leaders within FRA’s membership.
Each session allows participants to reflect and share any current topics or challenges they are facing. Participants are also be invited to participate in a one-on-one coaching session with Deb.
