FRA’s Southeastern Region serves FRA members throughout the South Atlantic including Georgia, South Carolina, the majority of Florida, Eastern North Carolina, and Eastern Virginia. It focuses on improving timber harvesting and transportation safety, efficiency, and environmental performance. Trucking safety and logging and trucking labor challenges are current issues of concern.

On May 21, the Forest Resources Association’s Southeastern Region honored Trey Willingham with its First Place Technical Writing Award for 2019.
On May 21, the Forest Resources Association’s Southeastern Region honored Dr. Joe Conrad, an Assistant Professor of Forest Operations at University of Georgia, with its Second Place Technical Writing Award for 2019.
Forisk Consulting, a leader in North American forest industry and timber market research, has acquired the Wood Demand Research Program (WDRP) from the Harley Langdale, Jr. Center for Forest Business at the University of Georgia.
