Point Clear, AL – On March 6, the Forest Resources Association’s Southcentral Region honored Alabama Forestry Association’s Ashley Watts Rowe with its First Place Technical Writing Award for 2019. This Annual Award recognizes the best Technical Releases published and posted on FRA’s website.
Rowe authored Technical Release 18-R-5, “Forestry Works” in Alabama. This Technical Release highlights a comprehensive workforce development program (“Forestry Works”—see www.forestryworks.com) to actively recruit and train individuals for careers in forestry and the forest products industry. Developed by the Alabama Forestry Association, through the Alabama Forestry Foundation, Forestry Works aims to develop a pipeline of qualified workers for logging and forest products manufacturing companies. The program includes 3 major components: Education, Career Promotion, and Skills Training.
