Hours of Service Regulations

The Secretary of the U.S. Department of Transportation announced that the department intends to propose a rule that would change federal hours of service (HOS) regulations for truck drivers. Details of the rule were not disclosed due to the proposed rule still being under review. The proposed rule has been filed with the White House’s Office of Management and Budget for approval. This process began in August 2018, when the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration published an advanced notice of public rulemaking that requested comments to improve the existing HOS regulations.
