Recovery in OSB

RISI’s April International Woodfiber Report notes that North American oriented strand-board mills increased their wood consumption by almost 9% during 2010, “ending a three-year run-down in the industry.”  In spite of the continued dicey statistics on homebuilding, RISI predicts OSB output will improve “dramatically” through 2015, with a combined increase in wood consumption of 60% by 2014.  “That would translate into 17 million additional tons of North American roundwood demand over four years,” including at least ten million tons in the U.S. South.
