MN DOT Releases GVW Study “Short Form”

We were pleased to observe the Minnesota Department of Transportation, this March, publishing a two-page summary of the major conclusions of its lengthy 2006 study, Minnesota Truck Size and Weight Project: Final Report, concluding with as clear an endorsement of the Safe and Efficient Transportation Act of 2011 as any advocate could wish for: “Minnesota supports the authorization of vehicles with a gross weight of either 97,000 or 99,000 pounds on six axles to operate on the Interstate System routes in the state, provided that adequate enabling State legislation is passed.” The Agriculture and Forestry Transportation Reform Coalition has posted this useful advocacy document within the FAQ at this link.
