FRA’s March 7-9 Southcentral Region Meeting, held near Mobile, Alabama, included a General Session with excellent speakers covering many aspects of trucking efficiency and trucking safety/insurance.
Since 2014, Maine has lost about 4 million tons of markets for pulpwood and biomass. Six paper mills have closed, and another has cut its wood consumption dramatically. With this rapid and dramatic market loss, landowners and loggers in New England are seeking new markets for their wood.
The Forest Inventory and Analysis (FIA) program of the U.S. Forest Service is essentially the scorekeeper for America's forests. The FIA program monitors and reports on status and trends of all the nation’s forests, including both public and private ownership. The Research and Development organization within the USDA Forest Service manages FIA in cooperation with State and Private Forestry and National Forest Systems.
Albuquerque, NM - The Forest Resources Association’s Western Region has recognized Terry Conley of TC Company, as the Region’s 2016 Outstanding Logger. The award was recognized at the New Mexico Forest Industry Association’s Board Meeting held on February 21, 2017.
