Issue Update

The AG and Legal Workforce Act (H.R. 6417) which contains the H-2C provisions did not make the House Floor this week as hoped. Concerns regarding the provision to use the electronic employment verification system, E-Verify, has stalled the AG LW Act movement to the House floor. FRA and other allied groups will work to garner additional support for the legislation over the August Congressional recess.

Issue Update

Your FRA team has been busy this week whipping votes in support of Rep. Bob Goodlatte’s Ag and Legal Workforce Act (H.R. 6417). We have been working with a sense of urgency trying to recruit cosponsors for the bill to show House leadership that we have enough votes to pass the bill through the lower chamber.

Issue Update

The House Leadership is interested in bringing the AG Act back for a floor vote during July. This provides FRA with another opportunity to pass the H-2C provisions in the House that provides a reasonable solution to supplement our U.S. workforce to sustain forests and manage vegetation.
