The Wood Supply Research Institute (WSRI) just held its 20th annual meeting in New Orleans, LA.   A lot can change in anyone’s world in 20 years.  No organization is immune from the need to wrestle with and adapt to changing perspectives, realities, and expectations.
Logging is dangerous work. Everyone in the forest products industry knows that, but being in and around logging all the time, it is sometimes easy to not keep this front of mind.
The Western Region of FRA has a solid tradition of offering two regional meetings each year. The spring event took place recently in beautiful Harrison Hot Springs, British Columbia.
FutureWood’s roots go back to 1973 when William D. Johnson of Hayward, Wisconsin established Johnson Timber. William B. (Butch) Johnson assumed the business from his father in 1986, and FutureWood was founded in 1988 to provide forestry advice and services to woodland owners.
